Singer. Composer. Speaker. Writer. But foremost, Johanna is a woman who is a passionate worshiper of God and in desperate pursuit of His presence. Her desire to know Him intimately and to experience His presence in every sphere of her life has brought freedom, wholeness, joy and authenticity which overflows into her music.

Born in India and raised in the United States, Johanna was surrounded in an environment where God, family, ministry and music was an integral part of every day life. She experienced a powerful encounter with the Lord when she gave her heart to Him at the tender age of seven and is grateful for her heritage and the invaluable lessons she has learned from being in the forefront of ministry from a young age.

Johanna’s musical style transcends the boundaries of languages as well as musical genres by bringing together her rich, cultural and musical heritage with the influences of pop and Gospel.

Playing the piano from an early age, Johanna was content to accompany her musical family while she "hid" behind the view of the audience. But God had other plans. A few years later while listening to Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Tramaine Hawkins, Johanna rediscovered her own vocal gifts. The renewed passion opened doors to tour in South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, India and other countries around the world.

As she continued to sharpen her voice and songwriting craft, it led her to collaborating with various artists both nationally and internationally. Although her heart was set on pursuing music and mentoring young leaders in India, God opened a door to a leading record company in Nashville, where she worked in the music industry. In 2004, convinced it was time to shine and not hide her gifts, she took a leap of faith and pursued her calling as a full-time singer/songwriter.

Today Johanna says, "My life is a story of God’s restoring grace. Through the adversities, failures and inadequacies He has been perfectly faithful and has given me a new identity in Him. All I am is a canvas on which He is painting a masterpiece of His love, grace and splendor. And I get a front-row seat to watch His brilliance at work! It’s fascinating and humbling! He captivates me daily with His extravagant love and I desire nothing more than to influence others to experience His incomparable Presence for themselves and to fully engage with Him in all of life."

Currently living in New York City, Johanna continues to write, sing, and record, imparting her gift of music. She is also the co-founder of Creative Kingdom Expression (CKE), an equipping organization, that was birthed to be a supernatural leadership training center, raising up artistic and marketplace "ministers" outside the four walls of the church. CKE creates an atmosphere where you are given freedom to participate in a "Prophetic Round Table with Holy Spirit" to bring about cultural transformation in every sphere of society. She is also an active humanitarian with a passion to bring the heart of God, through justice, freedom, and healing, to those trapped in human trafficking.

She shares, "What I desire more than anything, is for my life to be an offering of pure worship to the ONE who has captivated my heart; and be a provoking and yet sweet fragrance of CHRIST, that permeates wherever I am and lingers long after I'm gone!"
